Today the Angling Trust have made a statement from which this is taken:
We announced yesterday that we had worked with Sport England and DCMS to amend the government guidance to remove the anticipated requirement to return home each night after sporting activity.
This was backed up by a powerful ministerial statement specifically referring to fishing and containing the key phrase “for any length of time”. This therefore currently permits fishing at night.
We are going to take this in good faith. So from Friday 15 May 2020, night fishing can resume on Vauxhall waters, with an absolute maximum stay of 48 hours and then you must leave the venue. Please see previous posts for all restrictions, all gates now have a copy of the restrictions on them. Ensure you understand and fully comply. The Club will enforce and be warned, we have only one type of ban in Vauxhall and it’s permanent.
As usual park sensibly and continue to ensure all Government directions are adhered to.
This has to be said….if anything changes and fishing or night fishing is rescinded, we will have to comply with that.
While we can, let’s enjoy our fishing!
