Last Sunday the Club hosted a Charity Match on the Manor Lake at Tingrith in aid of the MS Therapy Centre in Bedford, a great organisation who are dependent upon donations to help MS sufferers with their ongoing problems.
Many thanks to the 28 anglers who fished on the day raising over £360 for the Charity. Thanks must go to Mrs Shanley and Mr David Shanley for allowing the use of the lake. Also to Club Chairman Dave Maple, Tony Kay and Tex Marshall for the organisation in getting this together. Shaden Tackle in Luton are also donating their commission from club book sales to the Charity, a great gesture.Tony won on the day with over 50lbs, closely followed by son George with 48lbs!
Below is Club Chairman Dave Maple presenting the cheque to Centre Manager Tracy and Centre Fundraiser Swarupa.
VAC Luke Wynder has kindly made a video of Woburn sands using drone and underwater cameras.
You can find the footage on the Woburn Sands venue page (click link below).
Many thanks to Luke.

Many of you will now know the water share agreement that Luton AC had with Vauxhall at Tingrith, has been concluded by Luton AC from May 31st 2019. The agreement came into place in 2011 after Vauxhall purchased the Mere and Woodlands Lake, anglers from both Clubs have been on good terms during this period. If any Luton member would like to continue fishing at this fantastic venue, the answer is simple, join Vauxhall for the new season starting June 16th! You will be very welcome.
Membership to the Club will be closed as of February 18th 2019. Membership for June 16th 2019 onwards will be available to purchase from early April onwards.
Members who have a season book will still be able to apply for their spring ticket if they wish to.
So from February 18th, no new membership applications will be accepted. The Tackle shops will have any unsold books collected from them over the next few days.
Please be aware that dredging is due to take place on the shallows just downstream of Kempston mill this week
Over the past few weeks a lot of work has been carried out on the river at Sharnbrook.
The river has been cleared of lot of weed, using the Clubs weed cutting boat gear & wading with scythes, to allow easier waggler & stick float fishing.
Also, swims have much better access, from the bank, with steps being cut & platforms erected, to facilitate safer fishing.
On Saturday 20th October, the Perchfishers group will be our guests at Sharnbrook, be interesting to see what they catch! Then on Sunday 21st October, we host a Beds Winter League match on the river at Sharnbrook, with the river fishing well at the moment, a good result is expected. If you want to fish the river on that day, please go to Radwell or Kempston.
